Same start as every day, except that it was foggy this
morning. Breakfast at Sabatini’s, bridge
lessons in the morning and then we played bridge with our friends in the
afternoon. Tonight we had dinner in the main dining room with our usual table
mates. We went to the Princess Theater
to listen to a female vocalist. She was
quite good, but now we are back in the cabin.
Tomorrow we will be in Cobh. This is the port for Cork, which is located
about 10 miles inland. We have been to
Cork before, visiting Blarney Castle, the village of Kinsale and the area where
the Lusitania was torpedoed in 1915, with the loss of 1,500 lives.
We will probably just stay around Cobh and try and find a
Mexican bar to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
Lots of luck! Fish and Chips and
a local beer will probably be our fare.
The forecast for tomorrow is partly cloudy skies, 45
degrees Fahrenheit, and a 20 percent chance of rain. Welcome to Ireland!
The question was asked, “Is this rock and rolling on the ship
usual on this crossing?” I cannot say
for certain, but when we did this spring crossing two years ago the sea was calm
and it was a great crossing.
